Thanks! So far he'll take food from our fingers, he'll lick our fingers and hands, and will come onto the top of the cage, but he's not quite ready to step up yet. We had to partly open the top of his cage to get him back inside.
He's been on an all seed diet, but he's already testing out the fresh veggies and fruit! He seems to like the sugar snap peas.

Wow...I can't stop looking at his pictures. Harley is beautiful and bigger than I thought he was going to be. Maybe it is simply his beauty that makes him so big in my mind huh?
So he is liking sugar snap peas. That is one of Valentino's favorites. I use them to bribe him to behave. LOL. The peas are the only veggie my rescue Noble macaw Julio will take from my hand. He is bonded to Lupe and does not care for my presence but he will take those little green balls from my hand. I am trying to get Julio to love me though the Sugar Snap Pea feeds. I may never be his favorite but I will do my best to make sure he never has anything to fear from me.
I am looking forward to more pictures and stories of your Harley. You had probably already told me but what size cage did you get for him? I love the color of the cage and how you set it up for him. You are going to be an awesome companion for Harley and he will be an awesome companion for you too.
Noble Macaw, I got all four of my cages through Petco, believe it or not. Their living space is 30x30x40, and I paid $210 for each cage.
Harley and I have a lot to learn together. The day he actually trusts me enough to step up will be a day for celebration. I realize it's going to take some time, and I look forward to the day that we achieve that milestone!
My guess is that this guy has spent the majority of his life inside a cage.
