I woke up to this this morning!!eek:
Tundra my female cockatiel has been in heat but not laying eggs.
she is one of my pets and not a breeder.
Around 3 years of age, and soooooooo very very sweet....she is my favourite!!
she's currently in with Angus, my other female, but Angus has no issues laying eggs.
Tundra is slightly puffy and seems to be in some discomfort, she keeps reaching behind to her vent area, and twice has squawked like something hurts.
she has eaten this morning.
I checked her vent area but has no blood, and there is NO egg in her either.
Being a breeder I have never come across this, I have no idea if this happens from time to time or if it's serious....I'm guess serious, pooping blood is not the best sign.
WHY DOES TODAY HAVE TO BE SUNDAY, AND NOT MONDAY!!!????
I'm going to send Evan my vet, these photo's in hopes he sees them at home.
