About to be a new owner of a baby Eclectus!

Eggs are iffy, IMO. There are better sources of calcium. I know that some people do not agree with me. But, she is a Solomon I think and they are particularly susceptable to fatty liver disease. A tiny bit of egg once a month is probably okay. Greens contain calcium as do almonds. Just do a google search for vegetarian sources of calcium to get a nice list.

OK thanks, i'm going to go to whole food and pick up some pomegranate among other stuff.... I also ordered 5 pounds of the harrison food you told me to get, hopefully that will be enough..

She is gorgeous! I like the name Athena too. Let us know what the vet has to say. Hopefully she is healthy girl, but I would do as Kathy suggested and offer the best possible choices in foods for now just to give her a chance to absorb whatever she could be lacking.

Thank you! At the store she was like an untamed lion, she was playing hard to get but I actually liked it, (I like challanges) so I took the chance on bringing her home.. She has actually settled down amazingly! She instantly steps up to me, she is a little nippy with other people still but she is eating, drinking and playing very well.. Even if the vet says something is wrong I won't give up on her, she is here to stay with me...

is there a reason why his beak is so light? I only ask as my Ekie George is 4 months old (on the 19th) and even at a very young age before I got him his beak was darker than that and had a more yellow tinge to it.
