He’s a very flexible bird; his mommy really set him up for success.

You guys...

We have determined that the kitty is an intact male, no microchip. The pound says that if we take him in he will either be euthanized or neutered and then released back into our neighborhood. They said that every now and then the adoption side will pull an adult cat but almost never because they just don’t get adopted.

So... we don’t need another cat... but this one is being so snuggle and sweet, he even likes the baby and has used the litter box...

I don’t understand this word “need” when you’re talking about furry kids. [emoji16] Looks like your family just grew again. He appears delightful! Congrats.

You always have the most beautiful ringnecks! Interesting how they come in a ton of mutations. Fun to see a new clutch and discover what colors they are!

The 6th picture-that NECK! Are you sure he isn’t an ostrich mutation? [emoji6]

I am new here so just seeing this thread and I love it. What types of birds do u you have?

I would love to be able to do something like this one day for my birds, but right now it's just not in the cards. My FILs dog tries to eat them. So not a good mix in the yard with dogs that want them or cats for that matter.

What do you think about putting a bird cage outside and securing it so nothing can move it and locking the doors shut with padlocks (I have little one's) and just letting them spend some time outside on the covered deck?

Absolutely do not leave your bird in a cage unattended outside please. Even if it can’t be knocked over or opened the small interior space can allow a bird to be attacked from the outside. It also doesn’t allow them to move to shade or out of the wind, etc like the space of an aviary. Outside time is great as long as you are outside with your bird :)

I got most of the garden in this weekend! Levi and Ulysses helped. Yes the cat has been named and bathed.

Yesterday I received a load of cockatiels from a freind who is no longer breeding them. Two are actually birds that used to belong to me, one I produced and one I passed to her when I got out of cockatiels.

These birds are only with me temporarily before moving on to my sister, but TWO of the hens laid eggs in the crate! Thus, they will be staying with me until they finish raising these babies since shipping while producing eggs is not safe. In the mean time, I don’t know which birds actually produced the eggs and they haven’t settled in yet, so I’ll be fostering the eggs under Hanalei who has 5 infertile eggs. Once the tiel mommies reveal themselves they will get their eggs back.

I forgot to post the middle pictures of the babies! This is them tonight, two are gone already and I’m keeping the pallid green female, her name is Willow, and I might keep her turquoise brother. I haven’t decided.
