COVID-19 Virus

Meanwhile in my state of Queensland we have local government elections today. Voting for all levels of government is compulsory in Australia so everyone is expected to carry out their civic duty, despite the existence of a virtual lockdown here. All pubs, clubs and many retailers are closed down, gatherings of more than 10 people are banned, restaurants and food outlets are takeaway only, yet people are obliged to join large groups at polling stations today! Queensland has always been regarded as a bit *special* - thankfully hubby and I got in just before the deadline to be able to cast a postal vote so now crowds for us today. But I do fear a spike in cases here in a few weeks!

That's tuff Lamanku, glad you didn't have to go. Florida held primary, one of few states that did. Today announced several of the polling judges tested positive, now having to trace contacted.....so yeah not good...

Florida jumped 30% and we haven't released tonight's numbers yet, not the several tested last week yet .. it's hard to manage so many numbers.. and all want answers now

Hide with your family. Ignore the rest... voting days at present. Clearly they really dont give a damn about the people

I expect there will be a record low voter turnout today. Lots of people registered for postal voting or went to pre-polling stations that were opened about two weeks ago. They’re telling sick people not to attend (duh!!) Apparently there’s a fine of about $100-some-odd if you don’t vote - I suspect there’ll be quite a few who’d rather pay the fine!

In the US, we are about to enter a sharp jump in deaths, I fear! We are at that point in the progression!

Flboy,
Our local news was interviewing people leaving the highway. They were all bugging out from other locations in the states.

The states need to control interstate movement from all states.

Every hot spot in the US has people leave their hot spot to go somewhere else. This is a nation problem! They are trying to stage help at hot spots with resource help. All these people moving around are going to cause multiple hot spots at the same time!!! Lessoning our ability to stage and help!!!

We are going to end up chasing this virus all over the states always vei g behind! We need a national response to stop by he movements if people.......

Turn around time on tests needs to be faster. When is that rapid test going to be widely available?

We have never had a pandemic like this. We have never done so much so quickly. Truely Amazing.
But we have to do more now.

I was shocked at the bug out numbers, shouldn't have been, but I am.

Hint, Florida is a hot spot! We have a large elderly populations. We are going to overflowing in our hospitals in two weeks......

Here something interesting I had a few friends and other people bring to my attention more then once and posting this video on Facebook panicking even more and reason many are stating the infected and death toll is much higher then CCP is reporting? Which they are under reporting, but not anywhere near that much as would mean over 40% infected if that was the case. So figure give my take on this as have a understanding how it works as people are assuming cell service is like the US.

[ame="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k7qxMBqRNZs"]China loses 21 million mobile users | NTD - YouTube[/ame]

Break down how cell service works in that area

1. Mobile accounts are registered with resident's IDs (身份证), not with resident's status (户口 Hukou). When a person dies, their mobile account is not cancelled automatically.
2. If someone dies of COVID-19, it can't be a priority for their sorrowful family to manually cancel their loved one's mobile account, just to save around $10 per month.
3. Though mobile accounts in China are registered with resident's IDs, it is legal and a pretty common case for one person to have multiple numbers [1] .
4. If someone fail to pay for their mobile account, there will be ~6 months before the mobile account is cancelled [2] . What's more, all network providers have decided NOT to cancel accounts which that are unpaid for during the COVID-19 outbreak [3] ..

My take as been there on projects

It's very likely. A fact is that mobile plans vary in every Chinese provinces, so it is pretty common for people to have multiple accounts if they work in a difference province from their hometown. If the business shuts down, people may cancel their business phone number.
Another phenomenon is that Chinese mobile carriers provide cheaper mobile plans specially for data (no calling or SMS) and a lot of people use such plan in addition to their primary plan (because it could be cheaper, or they probably got the data-specific plan in a promotion). (Most of Chinese cellphones are dual-SIM; even Apple sells special physical dual-SIM models of iPhone in China, rather than the physical + eSIM models sold in the rest of the world.) So if people are quarantined at home where there are Wi-Fi, an additional plan specially for data will be unnecessary and they are highly likely to cancel it. So is likely a result of businesses being shut down and the lock down and not a example of the real death toll. I had to clarify this one, so people don't over panic.

My governor isn't ruling out closing Kentucky's borders if I understood correctly. Not sure how that would work exactly, but we will see. Tennessee not doing a good job and it is affecting our southern counties.

We are above 300 cases now. Up more than yesterday's new cases, but not by a hugely large amount. Two more deaths, though. First time to have 2 in 1 day pass away. Not long before that spikes, I fear. And an update: thankfully that 90 year old was NOT a nursing home resident. There was a mix up in reporting. Thank God. So far our nursing homes are safe. Knock on wood.

Going to call my mom tomorrow and try again to see if she will come here to ride this out. It very likely will be her last chance. Where she is is not a hot spot. Yet. And Beshear implying he may shut down travel in the future...

Laura, how are you feeling? Hubbs and I are hoping you feel better very soon!

Still slightly increased traffic at night. It is weird. Oh, and the other night we saw something very bizzare in the night sky. Really not sure what we saw at all, our best guess was a drone swarm.... very strange times we are living in.

Thanks, three night of low fever and sore throat..day time feel great, so who knows..
My dogs woke me up barking....so now have to chill before sleeping.

Drones? Man what is going on in your neck of the woods!? Abd how come I haven't seen a pic if that filly????

Mom, travel is kinda bad, because all the places you stop for food, gas, bathroom break, do have a bunch of other people before you. Plus China keeps telling people they need to ware masks when people go out, telling other countries that's what they need to do....wish she had come to your place sooner, we have over 3,000 cases, 250 in my area.....my area did a big batch of tests been 8 days they still hs
Haven't reported them yet....

My neighbor are sicker than me, and afraid.... waiting to see if their fevers stay up and if they should try and get tested....
Stressful times
But I have a ton of feed for the pets!

Washington state is up to about 3700 cases and we have almost 100 in our county. I have one more day in my very long work week, and then I get a few days off where I will finally be able to spend some time with my flock. My family is in Canada and I’m in the US, and I’ve been calling my parents regularly to encourage them to stay home. They are higher risk, and I worry about them - and it bothers me that it would be difficult to go home and see them now (with the borders being essentially closed).

On the upside - my head gets scanned for temperature multiple times per day at work....so I will know right away if I get a fever :)

Death toll- if someone dies before test results, they are not counted! If the counted die from a secondary issue, they are removed from the count!

A drone swarm at night, that is odd! Haven't looked much into drones, but what I do know is that most have running lights (Port /Starboard -- red /green) lights, so the operator can tell if it is flying to them or away. With a swarm, you would be able to see their running lights and that would really look odd at night.

Another possibility is Chinese lanterns -- telltale is that they are all white lights. We have a group that fly them on very still nights (no wind) and they commonly send them up in groups. They do have a very bizarre look to them as they sit in place and then move as a very light air currents move them.

Got a call from my neighbor at the cabin. Seems that the Bug-out Compound is up and running as neighbors near it have seen camp fires the last four nights. With no leaves yet, the camp fires are very obvious. Apparently, they are pouching as that guy states he is hearing gun fire. He called the the DNR to report the possibility of pouching.

My neighbor closed the our access road gate yesterday.

Things are going to get really odd in the back country...

If you have access to the History channel, they have a very good series called Project Blue Book. It is based on the technical reports from a Dr. Allen Hynek (Little finger from GOT)
Entertaining and thought provoking

"We are not a lone..we have NEVER been a lone"..;)

It was 2 "strings" of lights. They all appeared at the same point and all were going in a roughly west->east trajectory. Literally hundreds of them. All moving too in synch to have been independant pilots. We are talking millitary tech. That simply is not available for private citizens. The second line had a slightly different trajectory. Some were slightly off from the line, but basically all moving in a line. It was bizzare. At just about 6 am. We were thinking for the reason all the lights turned on at the same point in the sky that maybe there was a cloud there or something? But it didn't seem like there was a cloud there. Maybe testing GPS linked controls?

Feed shop guy was telling us about stories he had been told about how it was like during the depression out here... you'd leave your land to go out for a short time and by the time you got back someone would be trying to set up camp. They would often get belligerant when told to move along, and by about the time you got them to move, someone else wpuld be eyeing up your land to move in.

Be well, all. And avoid the carpetbaggers of 2020, they may be infectious.

I read an article in The Atlantic the other day that was basically like, "yeah it's scary here in NYC. But for the love of all that is holy, DON'T FLEE. All you will do is bring the plague with you. "

I don't often find myself reading the Atlantic, but I can't help but appreciate that article.

Meanwhile the weather here is lovely amazing right now, but the carpetbaggers are about to get a taste of East Kentucky Spring. Mwahahahahahahaha severe storms this afternoon. Hope them tents have foundations. :D Lol but no, tornado risk with these storms is low(but not 0)

We are upping security, and getting creative. Trying to think of things that would scare city folk/ new yorkers. Lol we are thinking about stabbing old knives into trees, moving some used shooting targets close to any points we think likely to be a path of ingress. Hand painted "keep out" signs on aged pallet wood, maybe nail a stuffed animal(or stuffed animal head) to a tree, fly some flags(I heard said one time that the number of guns in a house could be guessed by the number of flags flying lmao. So we will get a variety of flags), have been thinking about putting some of the animals in the freezer into a soup pot and then using bones to make wind chimes or something. LMAO we are having fun with this.

One thing that seems to have helped with our other trespassers problem was that the trespassers strung a rope across one of the access roads and we decided it needed some decoration, so we hung a mummified half of a chicken that we found sadly after some raccoons had found the live bird on the rope. Lmao seems to have dampened the issue.

Plus with our road being so rough, I doubt a city vehicle could get down it. But we do still have the cable accross the road, plan to put another gate on the bridge, etc etc etc.

Any creative "scare the interlopers" ideas would be appreciated and probably used. Plus, it's fun to think about in a weird way.

We have a few hunting structures further back into the property. Going to need to keep an eye on them and up security. One is a pretty big sized structure. Not really a cabin but a lot more than just a blind. Someone could definitely try to camp out of it in plague times.

Going Blair witch on them huh Bug?! Lol

Florida now thanks 4th in number of cases.....
Creepy how quite the roads are at night....

Hey why have a confrontation when you can scare 'um off? Why not use people's superstitious fears against them? If they just think "redneck/dumb country folk with guns" they may try to 'best' us somehow. But freaky weird forest redneck bones-hanging-from-trees maybe-they-are-in-a-cult type stuff? Lol I mean, I would leave if I came across that randomly in the forest.

bug, this has got me thinking, you could indeed have some fun with this. Im not sure how far they are from you but a speaker set up that periodically played some really eery sounds, maybe bones crunching, flesh tearing sounds......the odd scream ;), and yes, shotgun cracks always get attention but maybe not as much as a .308 ;)

Have fun with it.

More seriously, can the local police help you out or 'ideally' can they get tested?
