Yvons has started greeting me with a 'Hey Boss'. I'm not sure if it's 'Boss' or 'A$$', so I'm treating it as if it were 'Boss'. It's cute because, as soon as I hop around the corner in the morning, he's right there and saying it. He also head bobbed for me today. I immediately danced, and he looked at me as if I had grown an extra head.

Isn't it fun to just be ourselves in front of our birds! We can sing and dance and act silly and they think we're perfectly normal! They can be such wonderful housemates and companions once you get past the noise and the messes. They don't eat too much, never pass judgment, mind their own business, and you don't have to take then for walks in the early morning hours in the dead of winter!

Make yourself a bowl and show Yvons how yummy it is! My budgies' chop is delicious, though for me it could use some seasoning. My husband says our birds eat better than we do! We would probably all be healthier if we started the day with a big bowl of parrot chop. A couple times a week I scramble a plain fresh egg from my friend's chickens, chop it up fine, and sprinkle it on their chop. Lately I've been adding Chia seeds to absorb some excess moisture. I also sprout my budgie seed mix using the Sprout People sprouter and garnish their chop with fresh sprouts.

Maybe he's right, afterall. Our birds DO eat better than we do!

I think it's fun how our feathered kids establish a routine. Especially for mornings and nights. Nameliss says a drawling yes massaa as soon as I get up. She wants the day started and breakfast ASAP. Glad to hear more of Yvonn's personality coming out.

Yvons was feisty today. He was reaching out to try to bite me, but didn't quite get a hold. Little brat. Vortex was in a similar mood and refused to step up for me. Ran faaar away from me. SO much for trying her on the new play stand. HUmph.

And everyone loves almonds—even Redshift, whose beak isn't strong enough to dig into them. Yvons prefers almonds to nutriberries (SHOCK!), and Vortex comes running over to the side of the cage if she sees me with the almond container, LOL!

Yvons was chewing on my hair today while I was putting in his foraging, spinning toy. Little brat, LOL. He pulled my hair, too, probably expecting a response from me. I spooked, thinking I caught my hair on something, and I looked up to see mr red-tailed falcon with a mouthful of my hair.

Vortex's been cranky lately. It could be she's not had enough sleep. Might have to put the brats to bed a half hour earlier...

When Yvons makes his cartoon falling sound, Charlie started screeching a 'spalt' noise like I do. I think he's trying to say the word . I love my dinosaurs!

I'd not considered that! Maybe he wants my hair up, like it was in the 80's (I just aged myself horribly right there...). Easier to reach! LOL!

Today was a lazy day in the studio. I had horrible sleepies that made me sleep until 6:30 pm, and I never went to the BBQ I was invited to. By the time I got going, everyone was napping, LOL. But I managed to get some CRANKY!Bird pix, LOL!

It's nice that you were able to sleep with that crowd! What did your pup do? I was lucky today cause it was dark with a steady slow rain. Nameliss was 'relatively' quiet. The dog was in self imposed isolation. He was in terror that I'd kick him out side. He's tried for years to convince me he'll melt!

The dog cuddled with me the entire time, until my alarm went off to wake up. Then she gets OBNOXIOUS (I swear her brand could be patented) with licking, pawing, then if I ignore her, tearing stuff up. If that doesn't work, she steals stuff from my computer/drawing desk and destroys it on the bed. OY! LOL!

Poor you! My dog's wake up is completely different. He rests his head on mattress and  stares. Occasionally that cold wet nose is aimed at a foot. In the background, Nameliss repeats a soft 'move'. When it's determined that I am awake noise and activity starts. I don't know why or how he started that behavior. Nose poking reflects desire. I do know where Nameliss got her word. At night I sometimes tell my dog softly to move. I tend to roam at night. Normal for me. I worked midnight shifts for 3 decades. Because I night roam, the bird and dog go on red alert. When they see I'm not going anywhere without them they return to dozing. I have to be careful. Nameliss is certainly willing to start her day early as in 0200. That means breakfast! TV! Then I am dealing with a grouchy parrot the rest of the day.

Yvons has started saying things I normally only hear on paranormal shows I watch and say to the dog. He's started saying 'shut UP!' because my dog is yappy as all hells sometimes... usually when he's out. Charlie says it to me and the dog, the other birds... then I say it to the dog.... about time he picks it up! LOL!

As for what the other words are that he says, I have to write them down because my brain refuses to remember. Pttttht.

I forgot to mention, Yvons half-heartedly plays with his new foraging toy. Every so often, he gets an almond, but he doesn't seem to LOVE it. However, the plastic chain with the leather strip in his cage is his favorite destroyer toy .

Made foraging toys for the brats today. Gave them all a brief spritz with the spray bottle, too, because it's been far too long since they've had them.

Caught Charlie, saying clear as heck, 'Winter!'. The dog ran over, too, LOL. . Vortex said 'What Now?' clear as daylight. And Yvons? He was saying 'wooooot!' in my tone and inflection all day today. I Zoom with friends, and I sometimes greet them like that. Funny hearing it from my brat.

Overall, a not too shabby day .

Just a short update: Yvons tried biting me again a few nights ago. He got my shirt, but didn't actually get me. Little stinker. He's also been dropping most of his whistles, like the cartoon falling noise, where I answer 'splat' to, for a more boring 'Evil... evil soul. Evil balls.' He'll whistle in the morning and eve before bed, but he prefers to talk these days.

I've started training Vortex to be a psychiatric service animal. For those who missed it, I've been wanting a bird as a service animal. I've tried with dogs, but I don't mesh quite as much with them. Plus, the laws up here allow me to bring in a service bird. It's not well known, so I'm gonna have some issues, no doubt. Thankfully, most of my purchasing is online, LOL!
