English Budgie ?

I was watching a talking Budgie on Youtube, named disco, who died around 6 years old or so. It was said by one of the commentors that English Budgies do not live very long due to health issues. LINK for reference :

I saw some videos of him and he had quite a vocabulary for a Parakeet!!

So I got to wondering about Rocky, our blue colored Budgie/Parakeet, if he might be an English Budgie. I post picture of Rocky (Blue) and Adrian (green). she is a lot smaller than him, but i also think he might be just a bit older than she. Is he an English Budgie?

He doesn't look like English budgie to me. Even American budgies may have different sizes (for example my Romek was smaller than all other budgies I've had). English are much bigger, not just little. If your budgie has something common with them, maybe he is a hybrid of English and American. But it's my opinion, maybe I'm wrong

I'd say no.
From my experience, female budgies are usually smaller and less puffy than males. Budgies also come in different sizes, like Rozalka said.

Yes, English budgies are more prone to health issues because they are usually inbred and a very unnatural breed.

Not saying I don't like them, just stating facts.

Is there any definitive way to tell an Australian / American Budgie from an English Budgie? I don't think it can come down to color, as those that talk about DISCO being an English budgie and he was green and yellow, but Rocky is blue.

He is a lot smaller than a Cockatiel. That picture also makes him appear much larger because of distortion of being in front of Adrian. Generally, if you get a picture of 2 objects, and one is closer it will appear larger than that which is in the background. Will have to get one of them side by side.
EDIT: will add a picture of both of them in my hand eating seeds and Roudybush pellets.

As stated above he might have a bit of English in him but he is almost definitely a normal, Australian budgie.
Also as long as they're fully grown, age doesn't play a part in size

Honestly I don't support breeding them. Like you said, they're inbred and unnatural, and live much shorter lifespans. I don't think that's worth it.

I’ve never had a female budgie but I’ve seen them before and many were actually bigger and fluffier than any of my males.

Yeah, Sprite is about 3 grams heavier than Marshmallow. She's is also super puffy. I mean, just look at this fluff!

Yeah. It's sort of random if the male is puffier or the female.
Plenty of females have been smaller than my boys.
Zig, Kai, and Seiji are generally not very floofy either.

Wow, they really do look similar! Poor Kiwi. Her owner must be heartbroken.
