Hi,

My name is Matt. My housemates and I "have" a maroon-bellied conure. His name is Mason, and he is slowly but surely becoming a terror bird... I'm gonna need a lot of advice.

Ask away and welcome to the forum. Advice is what here for :)

If your bird is becoming unmanagable try being a parent to a two year old child because that is what your dealing with. They only want for themselves because they don`t understand anything else. Screaming is not allowed but how to stop. Ignore him until he stops (takes alot of patience) then go and reward him with some attention and maybe a treat. Never yell at him to be quiet. He just thinks your playing with him. Clicker training is very good and I suggest looking into this. Your bird needs alot of training time, boundaries and disciplane. There are no quick cures just alot of time and patience.

Welcome to the forum terry is right there is no easy way round it and its going to take time and patience always remember to renforce the good behaviour and ignore the bad eventually the bird will figure out that its not getting its own way and will stop doing it

Hello and welcome to the forums! Would love to see some pics. I agree with above posters, positive reinforcement of desired behaviors and ignoring the undesirable ones is prob the best method. Remember that they get hormonal too!

Hello and welcome! I think you will get a lot of good advice on this forum.
