Eclectus, cockatiel
Hello I am new to these forums as have created an account to ask this question, I have a 3 month old male ekkie and he started making this weird sound, he is acting completely normal in all other ways, tho he seems to be making this sound when ever he is sleepy. I heard once that eclectus parrots snore , could this be it? Or is this a respiratory issue. He is the first larger bird I have cared for and hand feed as a baby, I have lots experience with conures and teils. I am worried about him, he is currently on two handfeedings a day and gets veggies during the day, he was just moved to a small cage so he can start perching and playing. Can some one please help me. Srry about the video quality.
Video of his sound

Hi there. I’m so sorry, I can’t comment as the video is of poor quality. If ever in question a vet visit is the best bet.

Did you just acquire this parrot? Baby parrots do make the cutest little noises. Especially when they are making begging noises when they are asleep. Due to the video quality it’s hard to make out what’s happening. Do you hear raspy breathing? How is his weight? Is there any tail bobbing? Is there wheezing? Is there nasal discharge? These things would be alarming and would prompt a quick vet visit. Weigh your baby daily, and if he starts losing weight that is another huge indicator of health issues.

Agree with kme above, if there's ever a concern, consulting with your vet is always the best place to start.
Definitely hard to make out exactly what's going on in the video, but assuming it's not breathing issues, kinda sounds like he's just practicing vocalizations and it's very cute. If that's the case, it's a good thing, and you'll notice it evolving as he gets better at whatever he's trying to say. :)

I’ve had him for about three weeks, this is the first time I’ve heard him make this sound but there doesn’t seem anything else wrong with him. He is breathing normally, his tail is not bobbing or anything. I haven’t weighed him yet but I will do that in a moment. I thought that it might be vocalizing but I wasn’t sure cuz it was so random. I also couldn’t get a better video as when I got closer to him he stopped making the sound and started doing his usual screaming.

It's very unusual for an eclectus chick to scream. Is he hungry? He may need to continue on 3 feedings per day. He will wean when he is ready. You really cannot hunger a baby into weaning. I am not saying you are doing so.

He has been screaming ever since I got him, and even before the breeder was telling me how he was a screamer. He gets fed a lot and I make sure that he doesn’t go hungry. He hasn’t made the weird sounds that I originally posted about again but I thought I was normal for babies to scream until they wean off. Tho he tends to mostly scream when he hears ppl talking. I think it’s the only sound he knows how to do and is just trying to communicate or be apart of the conversations. As he is quiet when no one is talking. Also I do keep food in his cage at all times ( a bowl of pellets and veggies/fruit) so if he does get hungry he eats from them.
