Two conures, three cockatiels, and a budgie
We have three cockatiels, two conures, and one budgie. This is how much seed and crumble my wife puts out every morning. It's about 8 cups. Thoughts?

Honestly 8 cups a day is too much to feed 7 small birds. Is that actually per day or week? Are they getting fruits and veggies with it? I'm not an expert on birds that small. But all their dry food is measured in tablespoons or less per day. Depending upon how greedy she's feeling my 15 ounce African Grey will eat between 1/4-1/2 cup pellets per day.

Yes, per day. They get fresh food in addition to this.

That sounds way to much per day. Unless they're wasting it. Dumping dishes on the floor when done. A favorite birdie pass time. Wait for others here. My 15 ounce eats an average of 1/4 cup dry pellets. She eats fruits and veggies also. That's normal for her breed and weight. I can't imagine 7 birds significantly smaller eating so much more.

With my critters, I leave a bowl of pellets out for them 24/7. They get about a tablespoon of veggies for the smaller birds, plus some treats in the evening.
