Well, Petfinder just made 5-6,000 telephone calls in the five mile radius where Maggie was last seen.
I dropped off more flyers at the local schools at lunch time.
My brother in law went around an adjoining subdivision where he used to live, and passed out more flyers.
Unfortunately, the wind is coming up here. If she's flying, she could get carried a long ways. Tusk was out in a really bad storm two of the days he was lost, and we found him seven miles away.
Nothing to do now but wait for people to start calling me. Hopefully soon!
Everyone has a "prized possession" in their life. For me, it's not a possession. It's a bird. Maggie is my most bonded, most velcroed, and right now most missed... member of my flock!
I'VE GOT TO FIND HER!!! SHE'S TOO BIG, AND TOO LOVING... SOMEONE WILL FIND HER!!! SHE ISN'T GOING TO DIE OUT THERE ALONE... THAT JUST CAN'T BE ALLOWED TO HAPPEN!!!
I JUST WANT HER HOME...
Just a thought, how often do you go to this pond and is it possible Maggie is trying to find her way home instead of staying in the immediate area? If so, have you scouted along the most likely path she might take back to your house? I know you have smart birds and perhaps she picked up on the route you take to and from the pond and is trying to take that back?
UPDATE: Mark just called me. He has a solid lead on Maggie! She was spotted 1 mile from home, in someone's tree! She was there for 2 hours! Mark is currently on his way to set up Maggie's playstand there along with food and water.
She did fly from the tree again, but Mark knows the vicinity she is in. It is dark now, so she is probably roosting.
Continued prayers that they will be reunited ASAP!
I am beyond thrilled about this lead!!
