I lost maggie tonight!!

Still here thinking of you and your flock, Mark. I hope that she's found soon and that you can be reunited... I definitely believe that with all of the tremendous effort you have put in that she will be found safe and sound! I certainly think that running that news story will be a huge help in alerting everyone in your area not only about her being lost, but how much you love her and how crucial it is that she's back in your arms.

Thanks.

I still think someone's got her. And most folks don't have the requisite knowledge to handle a greenwing for long.

Honestly, I keep saying it. She's a three to three and a half foot fire engine red parrot in a residential neighborhood. SOONER OR LATER, SOMEONE WILL NOTICE....

I got three more calls from that same stupid teenager that was giving me phony addresses... I finally blocked his number.

It's ONE (okay two or three) IDIOT vs. THOUSANDS of people who are helping.

THANK YOU TO THOSE PEOPLE, I REALLY DO APPRECIATE IT...

I guess the great divide is determining whether Maggie is stealthily at large in the environment versus being captive in a home or other abode.

If the former, continued searching and outreach will be necessary. If she is in captivity, the size of reward may become a factor. You'll have to trust your gut at some point to decide the best strategy.

I am not very smartphone knowledgeable, but with so many people staring at smartphones there has got to a way to reach them.

In my heart, I think someone has got her by now.

She wouldn't have stayed out this long. She's super friendly. She would have landed in someone's yard, and looked to be picked up...

I HAVE WALKED THE ENTIRE AREA AT SUNRISE, WITH THE VIDEOS OF SCREAMING MACAWS CRANKED UP. A MACAW IN THE AREA WOULD ANSWER BACK 90% OF THE TIME....

Which means she's either (1) inside where she couldn't hear it, or (2) I'm looking in the wrong area, or (3) she's dead. Those are the only possibilities...

And I suspect it's option number 1.

She wouldn't have died of natural causes this quickly.

You have to trust your heart, Mark. We must all push option 3 out of our heads as she is a large and healthy bird. Is it time to increase the reward "making an offer you can't refuse" to a possible captor? Still, it is possible somebody may have "rescued" her without malice and remain unaware of your efforts.

Well, the TV news coverage may fix that, if that is the case... and an online article as well.

She's too big, and too unusual NOT to be found. I have to believe that!

You'll get her back.

Unrelated note, is the time stamp on this site wrong?

It's 3:57 EST as I post this.

It's been freaking me out all day, I keep checking all my clocks and phone. LOL.

Another night with no Maggie.

We have thunder and lightning and wind tonight.

I hope she's somewhere sheltered and safe...

I hope so also, she's been in my thoughts and prayers all week.

Just another idea, whether it's a new one or not IDK?

What about getting permission to go into local schools with 1 or 2 of your flock?
Educational visit for them. Young kids love animals etc and can be used to tell of your plight, show pics of Maggie and has anyone seen her? Young kids love to help don't they? Loads more little eyes and ears to help? Bureaucracy in achieving this and time it may take to get permissions could be a big negative IMO. WDYT?
Still hoping and praying.

I have a good vibe on this Monday morning. I sense you'll be reunited with her this week.

Curious to how the rest of your flock is handling this right now?

I've already put up posters and flyers at the schools in the area where she was lost.

The birds are holding up better than I am at the moment. But Maggie was the goofiest of my goofballs. She made the other birds more active and goofy. It's not the same without her...

That's good. Just thought it might reach the wider community and give you those all important extra eyes n ears because it would be something they could relate to, seeing a parrot in all their glory would mean so much more. :)

If you are a part of the community people look out for you IMO.

That stinks, I was hoping the rest of the flock was countering the effect of your lost Maggie.
