I lost maggie tonight!!

I hope Maggie is back on your arm soon! Maybe the delayed TV spot was a blessing in disguise.

What I was told was that they were out for a stroll, and she was bragging about finding her in a tree, and how lucky she was, and essentially walking aound showing her off... with no intention of returning her. The impression I get is this person thinks she just won the lottery... apparently she's quite infatuated with Maggie. (That part I understand!)

NOW KEEP IN MIND I'VE HAD FLYERS UP ALL OVER THIS AREA FOR TWO WEEKS. IT'S NOT EXACTLY A SECRET THAT SHE'S LOST, OR THAT I'M LOOKING FOR HER...

I handed out a $hitload of $1,000 reward flyers around the park tonight... Yeah. Do it again, b!tch... wait, some of these people know where you live... plus it'll be on the news tonight.

You're not going to be able to hide her. Your neighbors will know. Someone's gonna call me. i CAN FEEL IT IN MY BONES...

Wow, I wonder if it's even legal to keep someone's bird. If she knows there is a $1000 reward and doesn't want to give Maggie back, I wouldn't even consider increasing a reward....I would just take her to court!

In most states pets are property and in common plea court the plaintiff would have right to recover said property with simple proof of ownership, with only some limited statute of limitation I believe.

Personally I'd be spending a ton of time in that park if you feel confident that is where the woman goes for walks.

No kidding! Not sure about Texas but I do recall when I lived in Georgia there was a story about someone who found a pedigree dog and sold it. The owners had been very actively looking for it and ultimately got a lead off of one of their flyers. They could prove ownership & that they were actively searching for it proving the person that found it & bought it were most likely aware of the search. So the buyers were out of luck & their money and had to turn the pet over to the original owner.

When you get a lead on her address etc. a visit with a law enforcement escort should result in recovery. It's one thing to think you've hit the lottery of a find quite another to realize you could be facing legal issues as a result.

Wow you are not kidding! That was an amazing story & so long I was really, really surprised how in depth they went - very touching, they really made it so personal - I can't imagine anyone would have the heart to keep her away from you after seeing that story. Very heartfelt awesome job.

I'm trying to find link on ken5 website with no luck. Anyone have the link?

Well, the point is, when the walls start closing in, you can make that call, collect the money, and be a hero....

OR YOU CAN GET CAUGHT AND BE VILIFIED...

Which would you pick... and that's kinda the point of all this.

I expect the phone to ring with good news in the next few days...

and KENS 5 can do a happy follow up report...

Happy to hear the positive news that she's alive and close. Hopefully her "captor" will do the right thing and return her. Looking forward to a happy ending.

I did the best I could and recorded it with my phone. I'm trying to upload it to YouTube so I can post the link. Should I start a new thread or post it here

Wow! Things are starting to happen, and it is fantastic to hear that the leads are starting to roll in. I can not wait for the moment Maggie is back with you Mark!

Mom to Charlie and Milo

I am so excited I can hardly contain myself :D!! I FEEL IT MARK!! This is SO close!

If this woman has her and had no intention of looking for you, I hope she is stupid enough to keep on taking her out and flaunting her! EVERYONE is going to know now after the news story. That is wonderful! Sounds like unless someone never left their house, it was hard to miss your flyers anyway. On pins and needles here for you !!!

I got a panicked phone call tonight from a woman who lives in Heritage... who owns a greenwing, that is not Maggie... she's afraid of a mistaken identity birdnapping...

I assured her that if anyone brought her bird to me for the reward, she'd be the first one I'd call, and advised her not to take the bird out for walks right now...

It appears THIS was the Heritage bird...

Don't know what to think right now, but the publicity can't hurt.

Oh no..... :(
I would go look at the bird, just in case.

I'm glad she called you. The story about the other woman bragging, though?? Let's hope Maggie goes into a nonstop scream fest!

It is illegal to keep property that one knows or should have known was lost, at least in GA. Based on the value of a Greenwing Macaw, this would be a FELONY.

Is there any way for you to go look at this bird, Mark?? JUST to rule out it's not Maggie, you know.

I'm going to meet them after work.

I didn't sleep a wink last night. I was glued to the ceiling all night.

Continued prayers for Maggie's return home to Mark soon and thanks to those for sharing links of the interview/footage.
