I lost maggie tonight!!

I find it strange that if she was found just last Saturday for the first time, that means she was outside for 3 weeks, and for 2 weeks nobody saw her.
The posting big picture of Maggie at the churches front door is not a bad idea, but most likely nobody will see it until next Sunday..... :(
What about huge pictures at the gates of the gated communities.

Actually if you recall, three weeks was how long it took for Tusk to get hungry enough to come out of hiding, and find someone to take him in...

Flew to someone, said hello, lifted a foot... and that person looked on Craig's list. Less than an hour later he was home.

So, three weeks seems about right to me... especially with multiple "flying around/perched in a tree" sightings.

To me, it means she's very hungry.

Please reconsider getting yard signs made up and putting them at intersections in the area. This will get you the most relevant exposure. It won't be cheap but at this point, all the other options have not yielded Maggie's safe return.

The vast majority of these subdivisions have HOA's prohibiting yard signs... they'd be taken down the instant they were put up.
How about driving round these areas slowly with large posters on each side of the car or truck the bigger the better with a good size readable telephone number and maybe someone will see it but use a big pic of Maggie so they recognise her easily

I know Mark has been walking the area as much as he can. And I hate to bring this up at the risk of sounding cold but, He also has to work . His flock at home has to be taken care of. Life moves forward. He has done everything he can to find Maggie and I am sure he will continue but Pockets are not bottomless and things have to get done.

He is doing a amazing job.

Mark, thank you for reassuring me. Tusk was so lucky to go to a person who knows about CL. I truly think you are close to finding Maggie if that's what happened. Eventually someone has to tell them about CL or FB or INTERNET!!!

Amen! I've seen quite a few lost bird campaigns (unfortunately), but Mark's effort has been nothing short of Herculean.

And the response to his plight that I've seen here represents the very best of this forum. With Mark doing all that he has, and with all of the support coming from here and elsewhere, I really do believe Maggie will be found.

I HAVE TO AGREE. EVERYONE HERE HAS BEEN GREAT... AND A HUGE HELP BOTH PSYCHOLOGICALLY, AND IN SPREADING THE WORD, AND FOLLOWING UP ON LEADS...

I BELIEVE MAGGIE HAS BEEN FOUND... NOW THEY JUST NEED TO FIND ME SOMEHOW.

One of my breeder friends, who helped me track down the guy who bought the greenwing off "that woman" lost one of his birds, and got a call out of the blue two months later.

YOU GET THE WORD OUT AND YOU KEEP LOOKING!!! THAT'S HOW THEY COME HOME...

Tusk was found seven miles away, three weeks after he flew away from the tree in my yard. We had two "near misses" with him as well, sightings where we almost got him back, but he got spooked and flew off.

He finally got tired and hungry, landed on someone's balcony, and got picked up. He lost about 1/4 of his body weight when he was lost.

So, in that respect Maggie would be right on schedule.

I've been following this thread, but haven't had anything useful to add before. But, the question about "where would animal control send someone if they don't take birds" struck a chord with me. I've worked in shelters for many years and I know first hand that if some unusual animal came in that couldn't be easily housed at the shelter, contact was very quickly made with someone who knows someone, who, in the current example, has a bird, be it a parakeet or a macaw. That person suddenly becomes the "expert" and the go-to for someplace to take the bird where folks assume she will be well cared for, because that person has a bird already. If the shelter, or the vets, have a go-to person that they recommend, that could be helpful. But, even if they don't, one staff member hearing there is a bird that needs somewhere to go could easily say "my cousin has a bird, let me call her".
So, that goes right along with the recent suggestions of talking to people who know other people. I know you are talking to folks involved in the bird community, but what about asking around a bit more widely to those not directly connected to birds, but for example, shelter and rescue social media for other animals, too.

You are in my thoughts and I hope good news finds you soon.

Another idea if you haven't tried is flyers in the grocery stores are the area that vet is in. If the person who found her really doesn't get out much, they will at least go to the grocery.

The local grocery stores are HEB's and they don't have a community bulletin board, or allow flyers.

I've done some of the gas stations, and Quickie mart kind of places in the area.

Apparently God pulls the wings off flys, just to watch them squirm...

I got a call from the SPCA on my Maggie add tonight. Right after they idtentified themselves, the call got dropped...

Then I got put into the general mailbox. And no one called back.

That was an hour ago.

Each time I call back I get voicemail...

I've never been closer to putting my fist through a wall!

Oh no! This is unbelievable! Are they closed? I would head over there as soon as they open tomorrow. Of course, I'm sure you've already thought about that. I so hope they have her!!

To tell you the truth, the screaming started Saturday afternoon, and hasn't stopped since...

Don't blame you. So many frustrating things have transpired this week!

Was it a live person?......Does their system shots down?.....Could this person (if it was a live person) use his/her cell phone?..........
What is going on here?????!!!!!!

That is extremely frustrating and i'm sure the angst has grown from the call, but hopefully this is GOOD NEWS. Tomorrow is a new day. I know tonight will probably feel like a lifetime, but any lead is a good lead.
