I lost maggie tonight!!

Can't believe it's been over 1,000 posts since this first happened.

Rob asks about her almost every day. For a non-bird guy who isn't even on the forum, your plight has really struck a chord for many of us, including my sweet husband.

My heart is so broken for you and for Maggie. I am sure she is either confused or living the life of a bird on vacation.

When my cat Nom Noms got out on my grandmas farm for three weeks, we were sure he would be eaten or killed. He was four paw declawed (I adopted him that way.) When my grandparents finally trapped him in one of their humane traps, that fat *** had put on over three pounds, and he was already over 16 pounds! Turns out a rotund, declawed cat can still catch field mice and birds like a feral kitten.

Anecdotal story that often escaped animals find their way, until they find their way back to us.

I don't mean this harshly, but I sincerely hope you're doing worse than she is. Best case scenario is she's being very well cared for and loved until you can be reunited again SOON.

Mark, I noticed an article about a missing IRN in the San Diego Reader. It is an "alternative" free weekly publication covering local culture, politics, etc and has very wide distribution.
Anybody seen an Indian ring-neck around Point Loma? | San Diego Reader

Wonder if you have approached similar media in San Antonio? A quick search yielded the San Antonio Current, Texas Observer, and San Antonio Express-News. Forgive the question if you have, it has been a while and much has been discussed in this thread.

Actually that is a sun conure, and it appears to be the one that was lost on May 5, 2012... SO, THIS ONE LOOKS LIKE IT'S GONNA HAVE A HAPPY ENDING...

Four years. Bird was lost on Marbach (near Adams Hill) and has apparently been hanging out in the trees around Sea World.

I just keep hoping for the best..for you..Maggie..your daughter...I actually felt guilty the other day when I was feeling sad over doolies death ...a year ago...mark.you and Maggie.you are in my thoughts

Sounds like it's time to go to that same area. I sent you that FB post from the bird found 74 MILES from home only a few weeks after escaping, and it was just a small bird. You said it's also been windy there. For a giant macaw, especially a well-trained flighted bird, I wouldn't put it past her to be within a much larger radius.

I'm no bird psychologist and certainly not an authority on any of this, but I think expanding the search is the only option at this point.

Well, I've spent the past two weeks or so on Facebook (and I'm not really a Facebook user) increasing her lost bird profile everywhere I could. In terms of expanding the search, it's simply not possible to send out that many flyers any other way... so online pages, craigs list ads, etc. That's what I've done.

I STILL THINK THE PERSON WHO CALLED THE VET TWO WEEKS AGO ABOUT FINDING THE BIG RED BIRD IN THEIR YARD HAS HER... That's the best lead I think I've ever had. That one WASN'T a woodpecker... I'm sure of it!

And that's Maggie's personality. She'd go to someone as long as they didn't try to grab her... She's NOT shy with strangers...

So I still suspect that someone has her. Unless that person shooed her away and didn't take her in...

Oh Mark, I just keep hoping and expecting that someone will see Maggie, make the connection, then make that all important call. I can't imagine your frustration at this point in the search.

I think you could be right about them having her as if indeed she had flown away or they had as you say shooed her away then surely there would have been a sighting somewhere that would have found its way back to you...she is very likely in somebodys home but in case these people who found her were holidaying in the area and werent residents (which is a possibility) I would keep sending out the word on fb as its a Great way of reaching a multitude of people...there is also a way of putting a commercial advert up on fb and paying for it and these adverts show up all over the place but someone else will have to advise you on that and its cost though I have heard they are not that expensive...I am not that good on a computer and whatever I do on it my nephew shows me first how to do it otherwise Id be lost :) You will hopefully soon get a lead and a call that reunites you and Maggie ...its only a matter of time. The waiting is hard but Please God the reward will be worth it in the end when you find Maggie.

I am so sorry that this is still ongoing, had more than hoped for a happy ending by now.

I was wondering has an advert been placed in a newspaper(s) asking for information with a reward? I know many flyers have been done by Mark but just one more suggestion in an effort to get Maggie home.

How's the search going?. I really, truly hope that this whole ordeal will end soon and mark can have his baby back :(, we miss you and Maggie :red: mark. good luck.

No new leads. I've been focused on getting her exposure up online as much as I can.

Haven't given up. Just nothing new...

Gracebowen, I couldn't have said it any better!! Thoughts are still with you mark.

I come on every day (several times) hoping for the news that your girl has been found and she is well. Mark, we are all thinking of you and Maggie and we are still praying for the best.

Thanks for the update Mark. I think of you and Maggie every day.
