Gold Caps are awesome! Very sweet and they love to cuddle. Not too expensive. They are under the $500 mark you said. Plus I heard that they are the quietest out of the conures. Even though they can be pretty loud. I love mine and I wouldn't trade her in for the world.

I have a sun conure. Yes, she throws out a scream sometimes but I think the cockatiel I had was way louder. I think it is the pitch of the scream. The sun only does it once or twice then she is done. Don't know what it would be like with more than one. Would they call each other?
