AND THE BLADES ARE AWESOME! My husband used to have a number of Katanas, gold and silver inlaid handles..sharkskin sheaths..they were GORGEOUS! But he sold them *cries* and now we have 3 hidden out-of-reach-of-children Machetes in case of break-ins.. >.> not as epic as those..*sniffles* Katanas.. that 'I' was supposed to learn to use!! *shakes fist* I'm a nut of everything Japanese.

So you were supposed to learn to use a katana? Would you be terribly jealous to find out that my Ninjutsu sensei dedicated a few classes to teaching us the basics of katana sword fighting techniques? Strikes, counter-strikes, thrusts, parries, footwork... it was amazing! You'd have LOVED seeing him in action. He sometimes did high speed demonstrations with his former sensei using actual blades!!! [emoji33]

And you're a nut of everything Japanese? Does that mean you are a fan of Mifune and Kurosawa? Or of the miniseries Shogun? I just love samurai culture!

I know he started martial arts when he was only 3, then he went to Thailand to study, and was competitive level. I'll PM you when I find out lol.

On the Maya front, tonight she picked up how to spin on command! She is so incredibly bright and learns very quickly! Well... except when it comes to learning flight skills, anyway. Hahaha!

In a coincidence at once flattering and rather gross, both Maya AND Bixby brought up some "sweet regurge" in an attempt to feed me tonight. Shudder! Hahahaha! Funny enough, I'd been under the impression that was strictly a male thing in ekkies.

I was apparently quite mistaken.

The situation at my house seems somewhat the opposite so far. Maya is more of a talker than Bixby is at this point, though in all fairness I should point out that Bixby is only one year old, whereas Maya is two.

Yup. Yes it is, he's quite attractive, for a 50+ year old, and he is African lol. He's a funny one..and he doesn't laugh or chuckle.. he GIGGLES! It's hilarious! Like when i was in labour with my last one i was in active labour and just chillin, chatting and texting on my phone.. he just sat there and giggled through the entire labour haha. He certainly knows how to create a relaxed atmosphere!

Phew! That's good news! ;P

Liana, that is a VERY different take on the delivery experience, let me tell you. Most women I know describe it... quite differently. Lol!

Maya and Bixby update!

There was a breakthrough, yesterday! Maya decided on a different tactic and discovered the truth to the old saying, "The way to a man's heart is through his stomach!" Hahaha!

I suppose her last regurgitation session with me was just the warm-up. (Sorry, Maya. Right thought. Right gender. Wrong species. Lol!)

But yesterday she mixed up a new batch and presented it to Sir Bixby... which yielded immediate and enthusiastic results! For the first time, Bixby became the more aggressive of the two, practically attempting to climb down her throat for some more of her sweet offerings.

Maya, of course, was quite thrilled by this, and brought up a few more offerings for her newly eager companion!

It got to the point where SHE finally had to cut HIM off! (With a little help from me, since Bixby had a little trouble understanding that the shop was temporarily closed! Hahaha!

Huge development, eh?

Anyhow, here's a pic I managed to snap at the most severely awkward angle. Lol! (They were on my arm and I was using my cell, after all!)

Thanks! Yeah, I was very pleasantly surprised by the leap in their social progress. It was the first time I'd allowed them to both be on the same arm. I'm really looking forward to when they can hang out on the tree stand, together.
