Hello everyone,
This past winter I had moved into a new living situation. Shortly after moving in, a large snow blew in. The day following The snow, I was out side and I came across this tiny green parrot. She, I assume, was frightened and cold, so I took her inside. I was unable to find the owner or anyone with knowledge of her residential upbringing. So, having fallen for her and her large attitude, I decided to keep her and care for her.
When I got her, she got comfortable with us and showed us she has a rather mild streak of aggression. She was partially molting when we found her. Since then, I have been working with her lots and provided her with a plethora of love, toys and treats!! Now she doesn't bite so much, although she doesn't play much either, but she is picking up on some games. Also her coat of feathers is near full again. I don't think she was given proper care prior to me finding her. We love her to bits!! That's her name too, Bits.
My question though is this. Does anyone have any idea about her breed? To Me, she could possibly be a monk parrot or a green-cheeked conure. She is only just larger Nd a parrokeet or a budgie. She has turned me into a bird lover, and already I'm investing energy into areas for future additions.
This is her, eating and apple slice. Any ideas? I'm positive she is being cared for properly, but I would like to know more about her more specific needs. Thanks.
Edit: this is picture is shortly following her being found. I can get a more recent picture if it would help.
