New to Amazons and considering adoption, have questions

Congrats to you and especially Paco! What a lucky older amazon. I think he'll do great with your cockatiel. We have George (YNA) and (had) two lovebirds. When Wilbur died at 15, Orville decided George was just going to have to be his new best friend. He invaded his cage and food cup and George has been a champ about it for 4 years now. I'm a big fan of birds having bird friends (if they are willing and supervised, at first). Happy for you all and let us know how it goes! Oh yeah, and I think it's sort of an amazon thing to hate cage changes. Once I swapped out a dowel perch for a natural one. George hung from his cage ceiling for a day and would not step on it. I finally had to relent and put the dowel back. Sigh. They are funny.

Oh I had to chuckle at the part of your story where George hung from the cage ceiling! Such clever and stubborn babies! Hehe!
