Hunny Bunny Munny Sunny & Roger the parakeets
I just adopted 5 budgies. They are 8 months old, supposedly, and I got them from a local rescue. I want them to have the best life so I joined to learn as much as I can and share stories.
My family owned a pet shop as a child so I cared for many animals early on. At this point, they are totally scared of me and my big hand but eventually, I'll hand train all of them so they can free fly in my house.
I have 3 males and 2 females named Hunny Bunny Sunny Money and Roger. :greenyellow::white1::whiteblue::blue2::yellow1:

Welcome to you and your new flock! Deep respect for rescuing from a shelter. Looking forward to pics and updates as you progress!!

Hmm, how many birds does it take to become a crazy bird lady? I figure 5 budgies is equal to one large parrot so I'd say you're far from being a crazy bird lady. :P

We call it MBS ( multiple bird syndrome) no cure!

Welcome to you and the flock! Many of us crazy bird ladies (and gents) here :)

Thanks for the welcome. Great plan Val, I'll count my 5 little cuties as 1. Scott, Laura & Jen, y'all have crazy birds lists, lol.
I've only had them for 1 week but feel we've already made great progress. Cheers to all the birds lovers.

Madness and brilliance are separated primarily by the degree of success, just make sure your doing right by the birds, and your brilliant, not mad, glad to have you guys along.

P.S. those of us already in the crazy corner are always willing to make room for one more

I only have one bird but I’m so devoted to her that I think I qualify as a crazy bird lady. Quality, not quantity, I think is the signifier! Welcome. Please post pictures.

Totally!! Your one of us CBL

I haven't figured out pictures yet!

Now I'm unsure of their genders. 2 of then act like both boys and girls. The lutino, laid back Roger and one of the white ones, Sunny, who's the most scared of me. Roger has been sharing food with Money, the total dude and Sunny doesn't have the dark Cera.

My big update is that I have 1 male and 4 hot hens. I was guessing by behavior at first, but their true gender was eventually revealed.
