Well, the you can’t have just one saying is very true. We added a cinnamon yellow sided green cheek to our flock. We don’t know the sex yet, but have a couple of names in mind. He/she is super small (50 grams) and is very shy and sweet. Doesn’t nip at all yet. She is supposed to be taking a hand feeding in the evenings but so far he/she is refusing the syringe for now. I figure it is the first couple of days stress and hopefully he/she will take it tonight. He/she is eating from the food bowl with seeds pellets and veggie chop without issue.
This morning my fiancé was writing with a sharpie and this new little one flew to her (clipped wings so more a graceful fall). She got a little bit of sharpie on her neck feathers. Does anyone have experience with if this can be cleaned off or we just need to leave it ?
You can see the dark spot from the sharpie in this picture.
An update on the black cap babies. They are down to two feedings a day and are now in their cage. The one with the missing wing is doing great and climbing and perching without any issues. Both are eating from food bowl now throughout the day and have them veggie chop for first time this morning.
Have a great day everyone and any advice on the sharpie would be appreciated!
