I have heard that the eyes will be all black if they are young, but I don't know if that is true or a wives tale. My ringneck was around 12 weeks when I got her and she has a light blue iris with a black pupil. She is an albino so that may be the difference.

Do they know the hatch date? Did they DNA sex? In the end it really comes down to do you trust the person you are buying the bird from. If you don't then walk away and find someone that you do trust.
