Buying a galah from Australia?

Hello, this is a CRAZY idea but, I was wondering if it is legal if I were to take plane tickets to Australia, buy a bird/galah there, and fly me, and the bird back to the USA. Does anyone know if that is somehow allowed?

Critical is this passage: In general, Australian native animals are not permitted to leave Australia. This is to protect and conserve Australian native wildlife.

Thanks for the replies! I completely understand Australia. A while back ago, people used to TAKE THE POOR EGGS FROM A NEST and raise them, just to breed in tiny abusive cages and ship them everywhere. It's horribly sad.
