COVID-19 Virus

I'm one of those "optimists out there," but a 'knowledgable' one that understands the deadly nature of this SARS virus and its transfer abilities to others, especially in groups and with volume to support the transfer.

In all honesty, its just people that have been played with (lied to) politically and have come to the sad position that everything they have been told is fake and they have been out and about and haven't caught it! So, it's not there, not a problem. But, we know that it is out there and it is a problem. A very serious problem for those most likely effected by this SARS Virus.

Today, we are seeing a 'small' bump in the numbers! In the next five to ten days, the real rebound will hit and those numbers will likely make this 'bump' be little more than a prep-signal to the CDC and hospitals across this nation.

Be Safe!

Hm. Well keeping in mind that I am in agreement that places are opening back up but this illness has NOT gone away... but wasn't at least Part of the idea, originally, that it's accepted we really can't stop it but the goal of lockdown was merely to SLOW the cases so they did not All hit the hospitals at Once and overwhelm all the healthcare systems?

-- that is, at least some of the info I was seeing in March, implied that the Number of Cases was gonna be the same either way, at whatever point restrictions get lifted, since due to the "novel" of the virus there will Not be vaccine in time to actually Lessen the Cases, and the actual goal simply was for Not All the cases to occur at the same time.

Which I kinda think may have been achieved?, or partially so?? ((Especially IF the states take the "out" which is implied in some of the re-openings, & IF cases Spike Excessively, then step it back down again. ))

I suspect "quarantine fatigue" coupled with a slow re-opening of the economy has inoculated the populace to be more accepting of increasing illnesses and deaths. My hunch is some very cynical people have gambled that human psychology cannot process an enduring threat. Many harbor the false sense of "accomplishment" from quarantine and expect to be "rewarded" with renewed freedom. Time will tell just how shocking the second peak of the first wave becomes. A Harvard health expert predicts 100,000 additional deaths by September. Considering we have lost an estimated 115,000, relief is not in sight, nor have we established a risk vs reward tolerance.

Unfortunately the WHO has sparked confusion by issuing and clarifying conflicting mask usage and asymptomatic spreading guidelines.

Well with Florida going up 10,000 cases a day....
My brother got exposed st his job!! He did an estimate st their house on Tuesday, Thursday they contacted him to say they had covid!!! That means they knew they had already been tested but didn’t have results back yet , horrible person! My brother had to get tested, his results won’t come back till Friday!!! He has symptoms today.... add your prayers to mine that he recovers with no hospital or issues!

We don’t get the details of the other person, but since it takes time to get tested and get results, we think they had been tested for whatever reason but just hadn’t got their results back, but if you had a reason to be tested you are supposed to isolate until you get your results!! When he met with them they did not have symptoms that my brother was aware of.......

Just awful, Laura. Hope your brother remains free of debilitating symptoms.

We're regressing in California - bars will be closing unless enclosed within restaurants. Consensus is spike of cases with younger folks, stable with 40 to 60 year old crowd, declining for seniors. All plans to relax constraints on hold until at least August 1.

oh my, hope he is ok! Has the US not seen a substantial drop in cases? The UK is down in the hundreds per day and Scotland and Ireland havent had new cases in weeks. Our lockdown is being lifted daily it seems.
This could be the end of the 2nd wave for us, apparantly this has been in europe since November after sewage and water testing has shown. Hope it ends soon, cant wait to give my elderly mum and dad a big hug. Ive received a home test kit today, ill get it send of later but im sure I havent had it, but many people who are showing with antibodies are saying the same over here.

Major lifting of restrictions including partial set of school kids (my sons age, 14) and also pubs etc are opening on Saturday....... Im expecting to wake up next the ugliest woman on the planet on Sunday.

The U.S. has dramatically upgraded testing so yes, we have more positive cases. However the hospitalization rate is climbing and reaching capacity in many areas. We have not successfully tackled the first wave imo.

We are still well within the first wave of this virus as it migrates with our population. The twenty something group believe themselves to be unaffected and thus group together and then without concern visit their grandparents, etc... We have excellent examples of reopening in Michigan and just as sadly, groups that mingle without concern -- bang another hot-spot!

It depends on the testing. Emergency departments can do a rapid response test and have results immediately. I had a friend test and she got her results 24 hours later. I’m having a pre-surgery next month and the test is scheduled late on the Saturday before my Monday surgery. So don’t assume they had been tested when he was there.

Am i right in remembering the US was a fair few weeks behind Europe on this, if so, fingers crossed guys this is nearing the end.... its been horrible hasnt it :(

In recent weeks we have seen hospitals reopen for normal day to day issues, i believe we are at 55% and NHS back to 100% capacity with doctors/surgeons etc. Hang in there guys.

LOTS are still isolating, myself included, but we are getting to the end of this.

For interest, they are saying November is when it first hit europe, and we are now in the 2nd, not the first wave. The 3rd wave starts on Saturday when the pubs re-open, us brits love our pubs!

This is just great.....omg.....what the heck... https://www.sciencemag.org/news/202...demic-potential-increasingly-found-pigs-china

Also--US cases of COVID just keep going up since re-opening (especially in areas where they rushed it)....and they have found that the highways leading out of these "rushed" hot-spots are bringing the disease with them to places that had been flattening the curve...I'm not feeling optimistic at all :(

FFS CHINA, time to cut it off from the rest of the world till they sort their **** out. Oh, hold on a minute, we cant as the worlds greed has become so so dependant upon them.

Sorry to here you are getting new break outs :( i fear the uk may be the same very soon.

It is very easy to become disappointed if one is only viewing 'total' numbers and not looking at three day averages of 'new' cases, 'age' of those testing positive, 'admissions' to hospital and most important, 'placed in' ICU by State.

The vast majority of the World is still in the First Wave of this Virus. Possibly, China is in a Second Wave (lack of data). I believe that the UK is more likely stepping between Stages and it is now understood that when transitioning from one to another increases can and will occur as individuals let-down their guard /change their activities.

With the exception of large gatherings, Michigan's numbers are falling, understanding that it was once #2 in 'new' cases.

I continue to be optimistic, as with each week, the World learns more about this SARS-CoV-2 virus and its many faces! The fake studies continue to be discredited and basic methods of avoiding this virus become better understood as to why and where they work.

initially the government in the UK issues daily figures, then we all realised that weekend numbers where often delayed. From that point on the government gave daily numbers and ALSO the average over the week and graphs where provided to show trends which was far more 'accurate'.

My brother tested positive, has body pain and fatigue, but ok so far

I hope your brother gets better soon. You may find another site helpful as well concerning the Coronavirus. It is called Unexplained Mysteries. There is a section there dedicated to the discussion of Covid 19 and many threads about it. If you have a question or comment you can almost always count on someone answering you.

WTF AMERICA!!!!

your GREAT nation seems to not be learning from this, please guys, use your common sense and look after yourselves when clearly many around you are not.

I feel the UK is over the worst and even tonight going to the pub, restrictions are strong and even though all where at the pub to celebrate Liverpool's league victory, common sense prevailed....and lots was drunk tonight.

Its not your government, your local state, your town even your close friends responsibly for your health, its YOURS..... act accordingly and please stay safe.
