4.2 million deaths....I personally don't think it will be that bad, but it's a valid projection they are throwing out there and using math. ( I smiled at useing math!)
I don't want to spread fear, but much of the ( math) from our epidemiologist and universities are putting it higher than that. But maybe taking the rest of the year to reach that point.
So many say this is happening, there is no stopping it. But what everyone is trying for is a nice round hill curve in cases, instead of a huge spike like empire State building of cases. This gives hospital, government, goods and services a way to deal with it.
That's why containme is so important . We should be very thankful China slowed it down with their massive containment. All other country's including USA, plan to follow if needed will shut down towns and cities. We should all participate and do our part in social distancing if this happens like that here. For not to do so, then everything's come crashing down..
The good news is 80 % don't hardly know they've been sick. The bad news is 20% needing intensive care will over run hospitals. The good news 2% mortality rate is a lot better than many diseases. So if this is a global pandemic( it is already , they are just choosing to call it multiple epidemics) we really got lucky ( I hope). MERS had over 30% fatality, Ebola 90%
I think if the truth was spoken about openingly. We can face it, and make preparation, and get past the impact this will have.
Very unlikely a vaccine will happen during this viruses trip around the world. No big pharmaceutical companies hsv stepped up, it looses them money to rush and make vaccines. And when made are sold near cost,no one would stand for a company to profit from a disaster.
Iran has repeatedly said they have the coronavirus in all their cities. ( Implied that testing just hadn't caught up, or they don't plan to do widespread testing) Canada, Lebanon, and today also Kuwait, Oman, and Iraq, have all confirmed cases of travelers from Iran.
Italy's blow up of cases isn't just rapid spread it been building up undetected until they had hospital staff get sick, and some deaths by pneumonia, then they started looking for it.
18 new USA cases, from Diamond cruise ship evacuated, expect more to follow.
