Guess the state will have to officially place high-risk folks in current tier for venues to actually vaccinate?

We have sort of a lotto system right now.... folks of all ages (and eligibles without appointments) appear at vaccination sites and hope for leftovers due to no-shows or disqualifications. Only vaccination used in the U.S. is Pfizer and Moderna - both have short useful life after preparation and cannot be rolled over for next day use. So they line-up and await inoculation by verified DOB with priority given to oldest.

State did place high risk as eligible for vaccine now. But vaccine venue only offer to over 65. News supposed to investigate the non compliance of vaccine venue tonight...
One hospital an hour away has some vaccine held for highest risk high risk folks, as I am, I got put in that lottery .

Well, as an update on the SailBoat household: Mrs. got her second shot this last Wednesday. Some minor site pain and felt a bit-off as her body was busy producing antibodies. I'm scheduled for this coming Wednesday.

Clearly, the guidelines are defined by one's State, as Michigan includes high risk as part of group 1c.

In another part of the World and not related to this Monster Virus:

" Russia on Saturday announced that it has identified the first cases of H5N8 avian influenza in humans, according to multiple reports.

Anna Popova, the country's public health chief, said in televised comments that seven cases were detected in workers at a poultry farm in southern Russia, Bloomberg News reported. Authorities have reported information on the cases to the World Health Organization (WHO).

Popova said that the workers had mild cases and were recovered. The poultry farm was the site of an outbreak among birds in December, Bloomberg noted.

Well, I tested positive yesterday.

I went through a full week of common flu symptoms, but it wasn’t until I lost my sense of taste that I suspected COVID.

Assure that your Doctor provides an aggressive use of medications to combat this Monster Virus!

May your treatment be successful.

1) I made the appointment for my test Sunday, in the middle of the night. It was for 10am Monday, so like zero wait time. (Curative testing location, Coral Springs, FL.)

2) You receive an email with a video link explaining how you will do the test, which is totally self administered. Swabs of mouth only, no nasal, and someone is monitoring you.

3) I get to the testing facility, zero wait, and unlike the video, the woman swabs my nasal passages. Huh?

4) She tells me I’ll receive the results via text in a half-hour. A half-hour!? Who ever heard of this?

5) 35 minutes later, I get the positive result.

Ira,
I'm sorry to hear this. I'm wishing you a speedy recovery.

Carrots juice to boost your vitamin A, take a vitamin D supplement. A lot of people are low on vitamin D , and there us lots of info that people do better with higher vitamin D levels.
Take care of yourself please.

Ira, may your recovery be solid and swift.

We are in good health, however my physician's office want's me in for my annual exam. The problem I have with that is my primary care physician died last month from complications from COVID-19. I was already leery of waiting room risks.

You can video Visit if you like!

But, annual exam is something you really want to do, especially the blood tests as they are leading indicators! Most offices want to you wait in your car until they call you /text you to come in. Waiting rooms have few people if anyone in them. Wear your mask and keep your hands in your pockets! :D

What doctor???

I hope you have contacted your doctor by this time!
Recovery percentages are very high for those who activity seek medical support. We are both old guys and that in and or itself does not help!

There is a ton of medications and treatments now available, the longer you wait, the more difficult it is to defeat this monster. Shove the attitude in the closet and push to get treatment(s). After all, you have an Amazon that needs you!

On the great news side, I got my second shot today!
The gal that provide the shot was not only good, but excellent!!! Never felt the 'stick' 'the injection' or the removal!!! She was a true professional, and yes I thanked her.

Other than a bit tied, feeling fine!

There’s nothing to treat for me at this point. I feel fine. I’ve been taking Vit D and drinking a lot of V8 and Gatorade.

My friend, a gal who got it at the exact same time as me and had the same horrible week and symptoms, is still doing very badly...like zero improvement.
And my wife tested negative this morning.

I think my next step is next week, to test if I have the antigent.

Vaccination is recommended as preventative from reinfection.

we had a mid 30s man just drop dead from covid, and an elderly neighbor 2 doors down taken to the hospital with covid in my small subdivision . In the same night!.
So the virus is still claiming people.
The man had no underlining health issues and leaves behind 2 small children...so tragic...and so close to home.
They did have friends over for a super bowl party...

Well, first day after shot #2. Injection site tenderness. Woke-up tired and been tired all morning and into early afternoon. Feeling better now. Pretty much the same as Mrs. Boats felt last week when she received her second shot.

I guess it helps to be a tuff-old-bird.

The numbers in Michigan are dropping like a rock. The extreme cold weather likely has helped.

Had my first dose of Moderna on Monday, recommended by mom's doc as primary caregiver. Literally did not feel the needle entry, 6 hours later a bit of soreness, maybe 2/10 pain. Next day slight soreness, 48 hours later barely noticeable.

She completed second dose of Moderna Sunday, no reaction save for typical injection site soreness.
