Domnijoe - The Art Studio and Bird Herder's Residence

Have you noticed if Yvon is a think, plan, do, watch think again? That's the Nameliss way. So is he thinking up mischief? Waiting, watching?

Yvons is definitely a watch and learn kinda burd. Not so much mischief as watching to see if I'm gonna feed his red butt or not, LOL!

Gonna be gone until Sunday. BIG convention I'm an artist guest of honor at :D. Wish me luck!!

Another Yvons story. I was in the kitchen, yelling at the dog to stop barking, and Yvons said, 'No.', which he says whenever I tell the dog to can it. I turn to Yvons and say, 'Yeah! You tell her off!' and Yvons starts going, 'Don't. Stop, François. No. NOoooooooo.' Perfect timing, as usual. You red-tailed hawk.

My question, tho, is who is François?

I bet your flock misses you! How did your convention go? Get lots of pic?

The convention was a blast! I made a wee bit of money, and I had fun watching people walk around with their cats they wanted to adopt (We were fundraising for a rescue called Whisker Warriors). I also found several finds that I absolutely adore, such as a stained-glass parrot, a hawk/eagle made of soapstone, and a Generation One Transformers character for 2 bux!

The birds missed me. Yvons seems to have forgiven me for being gone for several days (well, 2), and the dog wasn't a pest, LOL. And I'm helping run the art show next year at the same convention :D:oops:

Yvons got a toe caught on his cage again. I'm wondering if I should get a new one, as his nails are somewhat cut (Probably could do better), and this happens regularly. The spaces between the edges of the cage and the bars are enough to get a nail caught. Yvons hates it when I have to help him, and I hate having to pull his toe free. Plus, he plucks his leg feathers when he's trapped. Time to save up, I guess. :)

Is it possible to use cable ties to pull the edges closer and tighter together? Get close to same color as cage to avoid notice. Have to do it with my disassembly expert. She's always working on the edges trying to work them loose.

I'd not considered that! Thanks for the tip!

And an update on the lady who gave me her elderly cockatiels: She wants them back after thinking about it for a month. I told her okay, and I bought more bird food for them. :)

Aww that’s nice of you! Will you miss them?

I'll miss them a lot. They are such sweet birds! I'm glad she's taking them back :D.

Cinder and Zesty are officially back with their mom. She was so happy to have them back! Plus, she got some treats from me, like bird toys and a foraging tray.

Below are some of Zesty and Cinder's last pix with me:

T-minus 1 hour and 42 minutes before my new cockatiel comes home. I am SOooooo nervous and anxious. I don't want this baby to die on me like my conures, and I don't want to give the bird back for whatever reason. I'm still deciding on a name. When they come home, I'll figure out what suits them best.

Meanwhile, Vortex is busy honk honk honking up a storm. She's such a little snot. When she does it, I call her my 'Honka-honka burning love', LMAO! I recently changed her cage setup, and she's got it all sorted out after 2 days. Sigh.

Yvons is busy shredding his boxes, and Red and Charlie are busy exploring their new (well, Vortex's old) cage. Everyone seems happy, much to my delight.

Are you getting 1 or multiples? I'm interested too.

Are they there yet?

HALLLOOOO THAR! The new cockatiel is officially with me and settling in. They're terrified of me (To be expected), but are super cute. I've named them Quark after a Transformer (of course), and they're 4 months old, pied pearl, and sex unknown. The lady said her son was crying in her car because he didn't want the babies to be sold, but he was told it would happen and it had to happen. Yeah... learning is hard sometimes.

And now for pix!

So cute!!! I sympathize with the son; I would totally have been the little kid crying in the car if my parents had ever raised animals to sell. I probably still would, actually, lol! Quark is a very cute and fun name. Can’t wait to hear more about your newest feathered friend! ❤️

Photo dump of all 6 birds :D.

Cute. How's everyone getting along?

Redshift is starting to sing again, this time to Quark! I'm pleased with that! He was sooooo quiet for so long, so he must be lonely, even though he lives with Charlie. Yvons is curious, and the cage next to Quark contains Quasar, so Quasar is excited to have a neighbor again. I don't think Vortex cares that there's another bird in the vicinity, LOL! She really likes it that I'm next to her at the computer :)

Once quarantine is over, I'll schedule playtime between Quark and Redshift.
