this is why they always suggest to not pet or rub the bird under the wings, chest..but just on the head and neck area. Hormones can be difficult to control, and when you have your bird thinking you are a mate, and when you arent home or have the bird at daycare for when you travel, it can possibly lead to feather plucking, or starvation.
