Im really scared . Help ?

Hey everyone
I am actually really worried about Echo. He' shivering alot lately and its not even cold. If you watch him carefully on his stomach you can see the stomach rise and fall a little bit and his tails moving too. He is also scratching his nose alot. Maybe he has something in his nose?? But i am really consider about is his sleeping. He's sleeping alot more lately and im really getting scared. Hes not very lazy thou. He will be climbing all over the cage and scream and still talks. He's not eating as much but he never did even before. He hates his pellet before too but he still ate them and now he barely touches them however he still loves banana and bread. Also he holds his wings out , like not dragging them or anything but not close to his body like before. I honestly dont know what to do and im freaking out over here. The vet is soo danm expensive and im a uni student living on my own and i just cant afford to take him right now. He still preens himself alot and he plays around too, i just dont know why hes getting sick If worst comes to worst then i will take him to vet but im just wondering if there is anything to help first before i take him.
I am really worried and any home remedies or advice will be appreciated.

Im no expert , but my lorry was acting a liitle like this . It was the start of a respitory infection . They cannot get over it themselves [you HAVE to see a vet].

Unfortunately all we can do is tell you what it might be and tell you to take him to a vet.
Considering his symptoms, I'd say he needs to go ASAP. Birds go downhill really fast, and if you wait until "worst comes to worst" then it might be too late.
I'm not trying to scare you or be mean, but it's the truth. Hopefully you work things out.

Birds are *REALLY* good at hiding illnesses, so if he's not acting normal then you need to get him to a vet, ASAP. Money or no money, you need to take him- talk to your vet up front about costs and let them know your situation...see if you can make payments.

They are the professionals. Whilst they are not cheap, I'm sure your parrot wasn't either. Don't let your bird suffer.

Yep. Vet! It's the only way to be sure and the sorts of illnesses that might be affecting Echo might also be very hard for him to shake off on his own. He needs proper medical care in a hurry! Best of luck and sending warmest healing thoughts to baby Echo. Please tell us what the vet says and keep us updated with Echo's progress!

Maybe you could talk to the vets about some kind of payment options or go to family for a loan? You really must see a vet...

alright guys, i have considered it and i made an appointment with the vet, however the earliest the vet has open is next Thursday. ;S I've searched other places but the only other one i found was almost an hour out for after Monday and echo HATES car or any sort of thing o keep him restraint so i think i should just wait? He seeming to get better and i really don't want to put echo in that much stress. What do you guys think. Last time i took him to the vet in the car on the way back he started to vomit due to the stress so i dont think thats a good idea...

The sooner, the better. In the mean time you can get him used to his carrier, bribe him with treats, etc. Make it fun. Also it's not unusual for a bird to get car sick, so maybe the vomiting was due to car sickness not stress?

Next time cover his travel cage with a towel and see if that helps at all. Hopefully everything checks out okay. Keeping you and Echo in my thoughts.

The thing most people don't realize about birds is they Very Quickly reach a "point of no return" where no mater what you do it is just too late, the bird may not even look bad at all.... and in the big cities there are sometimes University animal hospitals that will put you on a payment plan

Sorry to be blunt [but its better than him dead. } .I could not get to a vet for a day and a half for my Macaw [he died it was to long].

HEY EVERYONE
Great news, i had checked out by the avian vet and hes fine He had a slight cold and some kinda of infection. He is now on antibiotics and he looks better already. Thanks for the advice and prayers !

update 2: So, i took echo to the vet again today because its been awhile that he has been on the antibiotics but his symptoms returned. This time i took him to a different vet and now im so confused. This new vet said that echo is a perfectly healthy bird and that all his behaviors are totally expected or is his instincts and that's im taking great care of him. He said that when i started to give him the antibiotics it probably just scared him or made him act different but as soon as the meds finished and their efforts he went back to the way he was and that there was probably nothing wrong with him before. So now this leaves me wit so many questions and a splitting headache. Which one to believe ?
