Hi everyone, I am looking to find a African Gray in Minnesota or Fargo North Dakota area . I currently have two super tame Conures . I have experience in African Grays and Amazon's. Looking to pay under $800 . Let me know if you have one or know of one. Thank you

Hi,
I've just joined the forum, but let it not put your guards up. Your post is from March 2026, so it may not be actual any more. I still thought I'd connect with you.
I have a couple of African Greys, which is why I decided to shoot you a message. However I came here looking for a mate for my Cockatoo that i just got when I noticed your post.
I live in Manitoba, Canada which is not too far from you. I havent dealt with the birds for too long yet, but I believe what you are willing to pay for an African Grey will only attract scammers. Before I bought my first one it was a difficult task - not only in Canada, but also in the USA. I was staying in the US for a few months and I was hoping to bring the bird with me to Canada.
There is a couple of ads on here about African Greys for just $400. But if you ask them to come see the bird first before buying, you'll see it's a scam. A breeder thst I got my birds from fell for a scam too.
Anyways, just be cautious out thwre - if it's advertised for less than 2-4K it's likely a scam. My pair will have chicks sometime soon -they've become very protective and the female is mostly inside the nest. Just saying in case you want to chat about it sometime.
Good luck and take care.
Cheers,
Roman Zilber

Agreed. Check local vets and any rescues. They often have rescues in your range. The rescue often offers you a chance to work and get acquainted. As above, anything less then 1.5K or more is a scam. Before any money changes hands inspect. Ask for independent ver check. Preferably avian. Verify the vet.
