Rescue Budgie: Snowball (blue/grey)
Normal Budgie: Oliver (yellow/green)
Black Capped Conure: Warbeak
Parrotlet: Lily, Rest In Peace
Canary-Winged Parakeet: Stryker
Snowball has taken it upon himself to be jealous enough of Warbeak to finally come and hang out himself. He sees Warbeak on my shoulder eating millet or other treats a lot and yesterday he got so bold as to come jump to the door (but then rethought everything and went back). Today however, it was different. He came out no problem with the dowel perch (can't use hands because he usually gets spooked). He said "I'm sick of this new bird getting all that attention. It's my turn!" He hung out by his treat bowl for a while where my niece was, then decided after a while to try flying where the couch and I were. We helped him up with the dowel perch, and brought his treats/water to the couch. Then he slowly decided to make the descent to my leg, to crawl up me to my shoulder like Warbeak does. I must say, getting Warbeak was probably the best thing I've done for Snowball. He's grown so bold in such a short amount of time. He was scared on my shoulder, but he was bold enough to go up there and stay, and that speaks volumes.
Sadly, Warbeak got jealous of Snowball. He was like "No mommy! You only belong to me! How dare you!!" And thus he started misbehaving. He ended up biting me really hard (he was actually on my niece when he did this). Twice. So I decided to have my niece put him away for a little bit so Snowball could have some bonding time without Warbeak being a jerk. Sigh...Warbeak had an attitude with me all day after that. He refused to come by me (other than when I let him back out). When he finally did decide to come near me (after about an hour of 'tude), he kept wanting to bite hard and I had to keep setting him down. Such a big baby! Hopefully he'll be better tomorrow, and he won't continue to act like this any time Snowball comes to hang out.
