I noticed right now pippen lost A LOT of feathers near her head. She has always had a bald spot, but not this big.

She has also lost quite a lot of tail feathers. Not sure if that's normal but yeah.

Other than that she is her normal self. Right now I am unable to take her to a vet, it's night time, and I need to convince mom too.

Do you guys think this is normal or not? I'll try to get her to a vet anyway.

Some 'tiels naturally have a missing patch on the back of their head, it's actually quite common. Best to get it vet checked, though.

She always had one, but it's even bigger now..
I don't think mom is going to take her to a vet, she said only if she loses more feathers she'll have her checked.
I think that's reasonable. She could just be having a weird moult, after all

Cockatiels, lutinos most commonly have bald patches behind their crest
It could be a sign of an illness (forgot its name ill look it up in a bit!) but its really uncommon and if your bird seems to be in a good size and seems healthy it’s nothing to worry about imo

Well its linked with breeding, ( probably back breed) especially these color mutations .

I don't think its PBFD..but keep an eye on it
Phew, I think I was overreacting πŸ˜… I'll still keep an eye on her though. I think she is just having a tough moult, she's about 9 months now.
