Is it ok to use ionizers with your bird to keep air fresh and clean?

Everything that I’ve read indicates that using an ionizer can be a problem for birds. I wouldn’t risk it.

An ionizer creates ozone! That is how it works! The ozone can destroy air sacks!

Lots of bird websites say not to. It is better to get a purifier without an ionizing function.
