We're animal lovers and this is our first bird, so I didn't know what to expect. My animal soul mate, is my first dog, a Sheltie we named Buck, but Shelby is very much loved. She and I have grown so close that we can't stand to be without each other. At night when we all (4 dogs & 4 cats) sit down to watch TV, everybody has their turn to lay down with papa on the daybed. Shelby constantly does something, to attract my attention so she is next !
She will say,....baby,...hey baby. Love ya, papa,...or when I leave the room,.... come back !
She also says, outside and inside when she wants outside or back into the house.
She'll act all silly by hanging upside down on the play stand, raising her crest and rock back and forth saying,...look !
She also tucks in her wings real tight to her body, lowers her chest down, shivers and points where she wats to go. Either to me, outside or back to her room in her cage.
When she See's me bringing out the toe nail clipper, she moves way back on her play stand, and shakes her head side to side real fast,... like....no, no, no ! lol
She'll fully expect us to turn off the TV when she goes to bed, otherwise, she'll scream at us like, turn that damn noise off, how am I supposed to get in my cute Shelby sleep !. lol
hehe,. she's so funny and will dance to music acting all crazy, especially to the drums. Even if I'm feeling bad, she always finds a way to make me laugh.
