Awwwwwww, just look at Tom, shamelessly cranking up the adorableness factor to the max 😍 And those baby snakes look so sweet too! Do you still have those babies?

His cuteness often distracts me from training him, almost like he does it on purpose! 🤭
I wish! I breed 2-3 females a year, I was very tempted to keep some of them but the only way the snakes feed themselves is if I have the heart to sell! 😅

Oh I’m sure Tom does do it on purpose, sure as heck Lovejoy does, but there again I’m a lousy trainer!

A few shots that may interest you. We don’t have any pet reptiles but we do have a family of bearded dragons who live in our yard. Funny story about the first pic, I heard a delivery van pull up outside so looked out the window to see if it was coming here as I was expecting a parcel. Delivery guy was about to step over our little gate when he suddenly stopped dead in his tracks and plonked my parcel on the ground just inside the gate instead of bringing it to the front door like he usually does, hopped back into his van and took off. So I went out to pick it up and what I hadn’t seen from the window was one of our beardies just inside the gate, sitting very happily in the sun, so I figured he must’ve scared the delivery guy off!! And at about two feet long he’s not even the big one! I laughed myself silly and had to run into the house and grab my phone to take a picture…
C5F4A94E-8F6F-4818-82C9-132E1634B127.jpeg

The next one is a picture of The Big One, not sure if male or female but it’s at least 3 feet long. I was minding my own business taking some laundry in when I suddenly noticed him supervising me from our guava tree…

Talk about “how to tell me you live in Australia without actually telling me you live in Australia’!!

Wow!!! I forgot beardies live in Australia! How awesome! Most of the captive ones top out at 2 feet! My male is just 14-15 in.

We've got a blue-tongued lizard out there somewhere too. I haven't seen him in a while though, but they do tend to be a bit more shy than the beardies. Hubby and I have had to make it a habit to check the driveway for lizards before we go anywhere in the car, we just never know who might be sunning themselves on the concrete and we'd HATE ourselves if we had an accident with one of them :(

Ah! Blue tongues! I love them too! Hopefully they’d move fast enough!

Well thankfully we have an unblemished record with the backyard wildlife so far.🤞🤞🤞 They're not that fast off the concrete though, usually I have to give them a gentle nudge to get them to move, and then stand there while hubby backs the car out to make sure they don't jump out of the bushes and back onto the driveway!!

Oh Tom, you’re one little persistent hard worker!

Does he do this with food too? Ona does it the most when I give her a special treat like some avicake. I watch her haul it up to a perch and just tell her “You’re gonna drop it before you can eat it……” and yep. She does. 😄 Silly birbs!

I’m surprised he doesn’t, but he he has a different bad habit with his food 😅
He likes to flip his food bowl out of the ring 🙄
I guess it’s a conure thing 😁

They always do that! There’s another bowl but it’s 10oz. Not 20, guess that’s not good enough 😅

Maybe you’ll get lucky? 😁

MySafeBirdStore order arrived today! Got some toys parts and different snacks!
Something for ‘me’
8A0E380E-6272-4901-A6D8-BC39F252465C.jpeg

96D594BF-C81A-48DD-AA60-24F5AD6A12BC.jpeg

Toys parts! The yellow and blue cardboard tube is for Tom, I think he’d like to sleep in there, he doesn’t get nesty unlike some birds! Ahem Hedwig!
Got some stuff I know they like too, sola shapes, cardboard squares (Tony’s fav), plastic spoons, forks, animals, and pacifiers (Toms fav), cork bark squares (thinking the budgies will like it!) sawgrass mats for the tiels, cuttlebone for Milly, got a Manu block to see who likes it, finger traps of course, and yet another different colored crinkle paper 😅
B5DD5E05-D93F-4F92-9DD5-C70C41868A62.jpeg

The food! Got some freeze dried peas, butternut squash and a mix of corn, jalapeños, and more peas.
Then dried blueberries, carrots, and beet chips.
Also some crushed egg shell, granola (I tried it, it’s delicious!), shelled pumpkin seeds, a little bird mix, and finally a different Higgins blend to try!

Whew! I ordered this right after Toms vet visit 😅
What? I felt bad!
