I fully believe they are all intelligent in their own right. People would be quick to say parrots are the smarter ones and they are with certain things, but there are certain things they can't do that dogs/cats can and vise versa.

Right? Iā€™ve never seen a parrot do search and rescue like a dog but Iā€™ve never heard a dog talk like parrots can or automatically clean up their toys like my Quaker šŸ˜‚. I believe each animal has intelligence in their particular area of expertise which makes them difficult to compare. Honestly, I think my horse was the most emotionally intelligent animal Iā€™ve ever had.

I am not a dog person or fan.
have always been a cat person.

mom got a beagle when I was in H.S.
dumbest animalā€¦
I donā€™t like dogs dripping their saliva on me.
I donā€™t want a dog that just ate the cat poop out of the litter box to try to lick me in the face.
I donā€™t like watching a dog scoot his butt along the carpet.

catā€™s do none of those things.
cats are smart enough to ignore the owner when nessisary.

I have felt many times cats and parrots are more similar than to dogs.

both can be trained but both are harder to train than a dog.

a dog has been bred to do the bidding of humans.
they want to please you.

cats and birds donā€™t care and do what they want not what you want.

Cats sure do scoot their butts across carpet lol! in my twenties I had a cat and a condo with off white wall to wall carpet, my cat made a brown line from the bedroom all the way up the hallway around the corner and into the living room. :ROFLMAO: funny now but not at the time.

I agree for the most part dogs are people pleasers, like people dogs are
individuals.

A dog will happily do a trick without having to see the treat. My bird scopes for the reward if it's food, sees it then does his thing to get it
almost always.

I definitely agree that birds and cats for the most part do what pleases them when they feel like it.

Saying which is most intelligent?, if obedience is considered a factor
it goes to the dogs. Smart can mean getting your human to jump when you(the pet)
push it's buttons.......and I think cats and birds win that one :)

Birds are observers, they learn quick..........and use that knowledge to their advantage. I say the article probably says birds win out. Thinking of the crow that uses a stick tool to get a treat out of a plastic box....there is a video maybe some have seen it. One bird drains water out of a box to be able to use the tool to get the treat all from observation.

My dog is literally the definition of stupid, so I canā€™t comment much on this thread especially comparing him with amazons! Ngl amazons have that effect to wake me up in the morning (scream scream scream) and my dog has the opposite effectšŸ¤£šŸ¤£

This is him doing downward facing door (yeah door not dog)
