The fundamental issue we have here is that the chicken won’t realise that he first has to deal with the problem on his side of the road before he goes looking for problems on the other side. We need to help him realise how stupid he’s acting by trying to add to his problems without first resolving the old ones!

Because the chicken is a tragic and fatalistic figure who is ready to pass over to the deathly realms on "the other side".

Because the "squares" told her it was safer on this side of the road but she's a gal who won't be told what to do!
