Yes and no. I mean, I'm not particularly susceptible to emotional pain. If things die, I'm usually not very sad, or not sad at all. So yes, for people who have those types of emotions, I would imagine it's painful. Just not for me.

Nope. I sometimes still count on my fingers while softly counting outloud- six, seven, eight etc, and I have a medical lab science degree and a law degree!

For me it's 2x6+1, I'm a complicated person who has problems with such basics but it's easier when I count it in a different way
