I tried to report it but i have to enter a credit card number :( I mean I know people who want the feathers but sell the feathers don't mutilate the bird like that. that ought to be a crime! Some people will do anything for a few bucks I'm going to see if I can email that person directly and I encourage everyone else to raise a fuss about it to.

:+o: ARE YOU FRIGGEN KIDDING ME!!!! :+o: THAT IS HORRIBLE :smile010:

*covers Ham's eves* I mean, really ... how could they??

I'm getting on my very high soap box on this one, I can't do anything on the US site, as my username is not valid, but I intend to sign up there and get it reported. I'm also going to be sending the UK site a very IRATE UK USER email. That is just so sick and disgusting. Maybe just maybe the bird did pass but all of those others I don't think so.

I know what are the odds that that many birds died of natural cause on one place! OK so I don't totally agree with PETA (people for the ethical treatment of animals) I own a leather jacket, am NOT a vegetarian, and have had all kinds of critters of course in cages. Anyways I figured if anybody could do something about it they could so I emailed them because they are an extreemist group they said they read every email so we will seee if they say anything can be done.

I am digusted by this!!! That many birds dying at the one place at the same time just doesn't add up. I'm going to write a nasty email to ebay right now. I hope everyone else will too!!!

this has become my mission to get this taken care of I am putting it ony many other forums trying to raise awareness please let me know if you have any ideas to stop this if need be I will print out flyers for pet stores humane societys and such and I was thinking about contacting the california SPCA. let me know if you have any ideas or feed back and we WILL get this off ebay!

Great job Kelli!!!

I'm with you on this one. Not to metion it seems to me like it does not comply with ebay regulations. There are many parrots in the world that are endangered, or threatned. If any of these parrots fit this status it can not be sold under ebay. Also laws prevent parrots from being wild caught and transported into the United States where these are being sold, how can this seller guarantee these are not wild caught birds. These parts can also be hazardous, what did these birds die from? Was there an autopsy done on every bird to determine cause of death? I doubt it. This person is just out to make a quick buck. I think this should be investigated including this "bird ranch"

Lets get the word out on this, as many sites and forums as possible. If ebay gets many complaints they will have to do something. Kelli let me know anywhere I can go and help. Maybe start an online petition or something.

I wondered for a moment what I said then Kelli

don't totally agree with PETA

then realised you were talking about the other PETA. I mean fancy taking MY name. But on a serious note, it might be an idea to get in touch with some parrot rescue places see if they can do anything to help. Things like this needs to be stopped right now and the more people who know about it the better.

I've sent ebay US an email and I'm now gonna send ebay UK the same email I'll even go so far as to pull my account with them. I used to spend a lot of ££££££ on the sight, but I'm beginning to think I shouldn't even be doing that. I'd rather spend extra £££££ getting my parrot bits elsewhere.

I posted this listing on a few websites and it seems as though they don't like it too much either. A lot of them said they were going to report this guy.

ok so here is my response letter

Thanks for contacting PETA about eBay.

We agree that eBay should not be selling animals, products, or services that result from or cause harm to animals, so we appreciate your bringing this to our attention. We have contacted eBay to explain why such sales are cruel, and have asked that they all be ended on their site. If you have not done so already, we encourage you to also express your concerns to eBay:

here is a letter I recieved from one of the humane societies in California.

I looked at the stuff this guy is selling and it includes mammals as well as bird parts. I checked a couple of the bird species on the CITES list and they are at least Appendix I, meaning he needs permits to "trade" in the birds or their parts. It isn't likely that he has permits.
I would be glad to email the guy and say that he needs to stop immediately since he is in violation of CITES laws (and who knows what else). It would be helpful if I also had a snail-mail address for him. I'll work on that.
In the meantime, you can try contacting EBay and tell tem of the violation. Also, you might contact the U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service and report him.

Off to the wildlife websight to email them. I have emailed about every Ca SPCA on petfinder I'm sure I missed alot if anyone would like to just find emails I would be glad to email the people for you just post them here and I will send my letter.

Kelli I'm at work for another few hours then as soon as I'm home and have more time I'll get cracking on helping to find e-mail addresses, etc.

The weird thing is hes probably losing more money doing it because the parrots cost alot more than what hes selling the feathers and parts for.
