Welcome, you will love having a parrot, My husban said that he dose not like bird but now he loves them.... just takes sometime and reseach. I think the best bird to start with is the cockatiel, they fantastic bird and the easiest one to start with, they become very tame if you handle eveyday.... I have never tamed a budgie but believe they do become tame... Hope you find a bird you will love

I was thinking of getting a cockatiel as i dont have any experience and dont exactually know how to care for larger parrots! As i saw from your photo you have a ring neck! They are so cute and pretty Do you suggest them as a pet or are they hard to look after?

Welcome to the forum. Cockatiels are great starter birds but do not get more than one because they will whistle all day. You should make sure that the dander will not be a issue. Males are great whistlers and some can even learn to talk. Quaker parrots make great pets because of their intelligence. Conures are snuggle bugs. Just do your research and you will do okay.
